I haven’t read the books but I have heard great things and I plan to read them.  This weekend at my local library the author Cornelia Funke (pronounced Funk-eh) was doing a signing and reading.  It was awsome, she’s completely charming and was absolutely overwhelmed by the turnout.  I talked to they person that set up the event (from WB…so a co-worker, in a way) and he said that she was a little late and was worried about disappointing the “20 fans that showed up”…little did she know there were about 200 of us.  She was amazed!

Datsun 260 – manual choke – low rumbling engine – 4 seats.  I did enjoy that car!!

…we HAD to get out of Reno.  So we went to the DMV in Lake Tahoe.

Linda found out, at the airport, that her driver’s license had expired.  We wanted to get away so we drove an hour into Lake Tahoe and she renewed her license.  Fun times.

…Linda claims I sent her sister to therapy “forEVER”.

We had dinner at IHOP and as we were leaving I made a left out of the parking lot.  There was no indication that this was not a legal maneuver…none.  However, we quickly found out that we were going the wrong way on the wrong side of the street.  We knew this because there was a car barrelling toward us.  Poor Tamara threw her hands to her face and screamed, long and loud.  I could tell she was trying not to fall apart and be brave, but I also knew, after their experience with hitting the deer, a head-on collision was probably one of her greatest fears.  Um, yay me?

After a lot of “sorry’s” and “holy cows” Linda from the back says, “way to use Gestalt Therapy on my sister!”
