Storytelling Festival

Wednesday, 17. September 2008 13:01

I haven’t posted at all about this.  What’s the deal?  Every year I try to make it to the Timpanogos Storytelling Festival in Orem, UT.  I love it and have so much fun.  Here are pictures from this year.  I can’t wait for next year because all of my favorite tellers will be there for the 20th aniversary!  CAN.NOT.WAIT.

I also love the entertainment at the festival.  A couple of artists I love, one of whom is Julie Hill, I discovered at past festivals.  She was there again this year and here is a little exchange I had with her after her set.  At Girls’ Camp this year we sang one of her songs, an charming and funny little ditty called Agnes Delore, and I wanted to tell her that.  I thought she might be flattered, after I told her, this is the conversation we had:

Me: Thanks, I love your music
JH: Well thank you…[Quizzical look]. How do I know you?
Me: Oh, well…I stalked you a couple of years ago for a cd of yours that wasn’t in the store….
JH Husband: [laughs heartily]
JH:  Oh I love that I have a stalker.  Um, did I get you the cd?  I can’t remember!
Me: Yes, thank you very much!!!
