I’m generally pretty calm in a crisis like that. Calm and somewhat stupid…so I’ve been told. This is how it went down.

cimblog(tm): i sat at my desk until it started dying down
cimblog(tm): then i walked into M’s office because she was screaming
cimblog(tm): and i said, looking at the desk, “are you o….?”
cimblog(tm): but she and her meeting were UNDER the desk, [bending down] “are you okay?”
cimblog(tm): so I went to the window (since it was dying down) and watched the traffic lights bend and the trees sway….
cimblog(tm): and was secretly hoping for some cracked pavement or something

So, there was an update to my blog software, so I did it…wrong apparently, because it took me a couple of days to fix everything back up. Sheesh…

Anywhooooo, I have updates! Let’s talk about the busy week I had that I talked about previously.

Wednesday – Big Bad Voodoo Daddy was fantastic! As I said, I didn’t care for the other two acts but BBVD really made the night worth it.

Thursday – A friend was doing his magic act in Sierra Madre. The event was hosted by guy I know from my church and that was a lot of fun. Right from there we went to get in line for our midnight showing of The Dark Knight. Oh boy was that great. I really enjoyed it. Heath Ledger did such a great job as The Joker. I was a little worried that the hype was due mostly do his death and that the movie and performances would be a disappointment. I was so wrong, it lived up to every bit of expectation! I’ve seen it twice and thoroughly enjoyed it both times.

Friday – Julie Andrews at the Hollywood Bowl, soooooo fantastic! She is such an icon and I was so great to see her. Not only did we see her, we SANG with her!!! “Doe a deer a female deer, ray a drop of golden suuuuuun…” She talked a little about how she had to have surgery 12 years ago and that she can’t sing like she used to, but not to worry, she “can sing the hell out of Old Man River.” She did end up joining in on a number of songs and sang My Funny Valentine, and it wasn’t what it used to be but it was still fantastic!

Saturday – I decided I wanted a change in my house, so I decided to move around the furniture in my living room. It was a hard job…and it was a hot job…and when I was done, I hated it! LOL It was so hard though, that I left it and decided that I would just deal with it. After a little over a week it’s starting to grow on me. In the process of setting up my sound system I found that during the task one of the kittens had chewed on one of the speaker wires and it was no longer working…so I had to go buy new wires.

More good news is that this past Saturday we had an adoption fair and ALL FOUR of my kittens found great homes! I’m so happy and I’m a little sad, too. I’ve had them for about 2 months and it’s a little sad to see them grow up and leave the nest (heeee).

So that’s about it for now…more to come later.

Long time no see!  Work has been busy and now I’m addicted to a new game on Facebook called PackRat.  It brings out my OCD tendencies apparently…I can’t stop playing.

So, I’ve got a couple of busy days coming up!  Last night a group of us went to the Hollywood Bowl for swing night.  It was lots of fun, I didn’t care for many of the acts except THIS ONE:

Tonight I’m going to a “Night of Comedy” which features a couple of acquaintances from church then right after that I’m going to……[drum roll please]

I.cannot.wait.to.see.this!  I shall report on that.  We’re going to the midnight showing, so don’t ask me any questions tomorrow that you want an answer in the form of anything other than a grunt and point.

Did everyone have a good holiday weekend? Safe I hope.

My friends and I went to Ojai (where I grew up) and met up with my mother, went to Ventura for the big street fair then spent the rest of the night back in Ojai listening to a band and watching fireworks. It was hot and smoky from the Goleta fire but still fun!

I’m getting better at using my camera.  I got some great shots that I’m pretty proud of and actually I ordered a few prints today!  They’ll go on my wall for sure!

Having walked to a meeting on the lot one of my coworkers came back and said, “it is hotter than Satan’s ASS out there!”  So I said, “Wow, that’s hot.  I don’t know what that means but it is H O T!”
